URS COVID19
Update and Return to Service

Dear URS patients/families,

What a rollercoaster of a few months it has been! We want to share our plans to resume services in a hybrid model of care to ensure both safety of patient, therapist, team, and respective families. At the bottom of this page you’ll find our newly updated policy related to how we plan to resume treatment sessions and what measures we will have in place to protect you and your family as well as our staff.

Please note the following re-opening dates:

Farm visits will start back Tuesday, June 2, 2020 with social distancing procedures and masks required for all persons onsite. If your child cannot comply with wearing a mask, face shields will be used during the session by the therapist and sidewalker in addition to their mask. We are working on social stories with pictures of what a face shield is and why the therapist will be wearing it so that you can prepare them for their first visit back. It will be different. We are keeping everyone’s wellbeing at the forefront. Current days/times available at the farm are as follows:

  • Tuesday 9 AM – 2 PM
  • Friday 9 AM – 2 PM
  • Saturday 9 AM – 2 PM

Clinic sessions will be scheduled sparingly and reserved mostly for initial evaluations or those whom cannot be seen by telehealth or home visit.

Home/community based visits will resume June 1, 2020 pending all appropriate supplies are in place for therapy team. Therapists will avoid treating inside the home when possible and will be outside in open air either in the yard if available or in a predetermined park area that is appropriate for therapy. We will work with you for your specific situation to make sure we are able to meet your child’s needs in a way that is safe for all parties. In order to ensure efficiency and continuity of care, our therapists will be providing a plan for each session ahead of time with materials to have available to work with that day.

Our team has been working closely to come up with creative ways to address on-going needs as we transition back to in-person visits. We highly recommend that those able to continue with telehealth do so as this will help with our scheduling flow and allow us to meet each family’s individual needs as safely as we can. We greatly appreciate your understanding and compliance with our policies moving forward and are happy to answer any questions that you might have.

Keep in mind that if COVID-19 conditions worsen and/or if at any time it is deemed unsafe to continue services in-person we reserve the right to modify schedules as appropriate to ensure that all staff, patients, and respective families are not unnecessarily placed at risk.
Please, take the time to review the pertinent policies attached that relate to your child’s care. ALL families will be required to agree to our illness policy. We look forward to seeing you all again soon and hope for some summer relief!!

Katie, Lina, and the URS team.
