You may reserve as many months in advance as you like.

Billing Process

How does the billing process work?

We require insurance and some demographic information at the time of the initial intake to be able to schedule your appointment. Please, have your ID card ready when you call our office. Your insurance benefits will be verified prior to your initial visit. You will be notified of your benefits and whether your insurance requires a referral or prior authorization for our services by our front office staff.

Please, note that although benefits are quoted by your insurance company representative or their web portal, they are not a guarantee of payment. It is the patient's responsibility to provide the required documentation and pertinent information to Unbridled Rehabilitation Services in a timely manner to ensure claim payment (i.e. referrals, change in insurance status/coverage, same benefits used by a different provider, valid credit card information, etc.) Claims will be submitted to your insurance plan by our team in a timely manner. Based on their response, all co-payments, deductible amounts and co-insurance are the responsibility of the patient or Responsible Party and will be billed by URS monthly.

We collect credit card authorization form from each patient at the time of the first visit, to be processed monthly to charge for co-pays, deductibles, co-insurance, and cancellation/registration fees, if applicable. You will still receive a statement from URS to reflect details of the payment charged for your records. If we are unable to bill your credit card at any time, you are expected to pay the balance within 15 days of receiving the statement from Unbridled Rehabilitation Services to avoid 10% monthly interest charge. Delinquent accounts will be sent to a third-party collection/credit reporting agency and 25% interest charge will be assessed on balance owed.

Please, note that services may be denied or interrupted for patients with delinquent accounts.

In the age of high deductibles and increased patient cost-sharing we are here to offer many payment options to help you with paying for your healthcare costs:

  • Your Credit Cards are accepted (Visa, Mastercard, American Express & Discover)
  • Deferred Interest URS 3-month budget payment plan (any balance)
  • Care Credit credit card applications are available at our office or you may visit them at carecredit.com:
  • 6 months 0% financing (deferred interest) for balances from $200-$999
  • 24 months 14.90% APR for balances over $1000

Frequently Asked Questions

Is Equine Assisted therapy/ Hippotherapy covered by my insurance?

Yes, most insurance plans will cover Occupational, Physical and Speech services if deemed medically necessary by your healthcare team. It is helpful to have your referring practitioner work with our therapists to craft a plan of care that suits your specific needs.

What insurance plans do you accept?
At Unbridled we accept a variety of payors and continuously evaluate our participation needs. Please, refer to the participation link. If you do not see your insurance on the list, please, contact our office at 410-970-2400 as we offer Out of Network billing options as well as self-pay options for most of our services.

When and where are the off site services available?

We have complete active registration information on our website and social media (link here).  URS works with many providers and facilities throughout the Greater Baltimore and Washington area to bring our programs and services to your community. We need a certain number of participants to make the programs available. Please, take a moment to complete our interest inquiry form or share the information with someone in need (use the link here) to help us assess the need for our services and build the programs near you!

How do I sign up for services? What should I expect during my first visit?
We have multiple tools to help you make the first step to fulfilling your therapy goals. You are able to submit an inquiry form from our website, contact us on social media or call our office to set up your initial consultation. You should have your demographics and insurance information ready. We will schedule your initial consultation at our office or at your home (depending on your treatment needs) and your therapist will discuss your treatment options with you during that visit.
Do I need a referral from my doctor to be seen?
Not always. While it is helpful for our therapists to be in touch with your primary care doctor, generally only HMO plans require a referral. Self pay patients do not need a referral to be seen or treated as they are not governed by insurance agreements. We will know more to guide you once your insurance benefits are verified by our staff.
What if I don't have insurance or cannot afford care?
It is our goal at URS to provide services to all in need. We have a wealth of resources to help you get coverage or funds that our patients have used over the years. Please, see the links below (link to Health Care Connections, LISS, "Ride to Give" foundation, etc.)
If you are still unable to get coverage, please contact us directly and we will work with you by offering self-pay rates, frequency, and sibling/family member discounts, low-income discounts and reasonable payment plans for qualified individuals and their families.
