Sprout to Sprinkle Friendship Club Update
Friends of Unbridled Rehab ages 6-10 have been joining us in March & April to explore social skills through fun crafts, stories, and food activities hosted by Sprout to Sprinkle LLC. We have had a great turnout over the past several weeks and will be wrapping up our 6-week club April 14.
Kids are enjoying learning about good listening skills, recognizing emotions in others, and conversation skills while doing all these fun activities! (picture at right of our “picnic” session from last week!)
Stay tuned for a big kids friendship club for tweens and teens ages 11-18 this summer! Please email Megan for more information.
Summer is on its way!
I know its hard to believe with the weather outside, but beach season is coming!
If you already have plans for traveling in place, please let us know as soon as possible so we can plan the schedule around your absence!
Additionally, since school is out, we are able to offer earlier time slots for therapy. Please let us know if you’d like to change your slot!
Summer Strider Bike Program!
We’ve kicked off our Spring Strider Bike program and its such a great way to build these skills in kids.
Strider balance bikes are industry-leading training bikes that help riders from 18 months up to adults master the fundamentals of balancing, leaning, and steering without the distractions and complications of pedals or training wheels. This design builds confidence and eliminates fear by allowing individuals to have their feet on the ground and progress at their own pace!
Handwriting without Tears!
These sessions are packed with multi-sensory tools promoting handwriting speed and fluency that make handwriting fun! The therapist facilitating will assess the student’s grasp, type of utensil used, and positioning, while also teaching the foundations of print or cursive using a developmental sequence,
consistent with language promoting, visual, and proprioceptive sensory systems.
Summer dates to be released in Early Summer 2018 with targeted skills including handwriting and keyboarding.
If you’re interested, fill out this short survey with days of the week/times that work well for your family!
We’re looking for Summer interns!
Opportunities exist for observational or volunteer internships in the specialty area of Hippotherapy. These are non-compensated positions where individuals can shadow Unbridled occupational, physical, and speech therapists for educational purposes. Please email Alysa@unbridledrehab.com for more information.
Spring in Maryland means unpredictable weather outdoors.
On those gorgeous days, get out and dig in the dirt, make mudpies with all the tiny flowers, and point out different cloud shapes. But on days when the rain comes down, you can keep it feeling the joy of a beautiful spring day with this fun craft!
