May 2018 Newsletter

Posted on May 18, 2018 under Newsletter

If you are a current URS family, you should have already received the following letter. If so, scroll down to see summer dates for our Handwriting Improvement Program and an invitation to the City Ranch Fundraiser!

If you haven’t seen this letter, please take a moment to read:

Dear URS Families,

We are writing to inform you that as of June 1, Unbridled Rehab will discontinue services at TRRC, due to differing priorities. As part of this transition, we are reconfiguring the delivery model used for services and realigning our mission. All services provided will be relocated to our existing locations (listed below) starting summer term, June 2018.

In an effort to serve each of you the best we can, we are first looking to transition to locations within your county. We are currently pursuing another location contract near Glenwood for those in Howard County.

Our current locations are as follows:

1. City Ranch, (Baltimore Co.) 7613 Dogwood Rd, Windsor Mill, MD 21244
2. Merkel Farm, (PG Co.) 9439 Merkel Rd, Bowie, MD 20715
3. Silverado Stables (Frederick Co.) 11515 Angleberger Rd, Thurmont, MD 21788

Our model is changing to a true integrated plan where clients will be seen across home, clinic, and community environments to promote optimal carryover of interventions to daily living.

You will be contacted individually about scheduling details for our summer term (June 2018). Please share your summer vacation dates or if you do not plan to participate during the summer so we can plan accordingly. We invite you to call us directly to discuss specifics related to your child’s needs.

We are excited to share new opportunities and continue to provide quality therapy in a unique setting.

Sincerely,

Katie Roe & Alysa Simms

Handwriting Improvement Program!

These sessions are packed with multi-sensory tools promoting handwriting speed and fluency that make handwriting fun! The therapist facilitating will assess the student’s grasp, type of utensil used, and positioning, while also teaching the foundations of print or cursive using a developmental sequence,
consistent with language promoting, visual, and proprioceptive sensory systems
